Our Wedding

Kiran and Emme go way back, all the way to middle school. While Kiran insists he doesn’t really remember Emme from their 8th-grade class, Emme absolutely remembers him. As most middle school boys were, he was a bit of a jokester. It wasn’t until 9th grade, though, that our story really began.That year, we found ourselves in not one but two classes together: Spanish and physics. What started as playful competition over who was “smarter,” somehow led Mr. Merrill to seat us next to each other — a decision we’re forever grateful for. From there, late-night texting began, with Emme very casually asking Kiran for help with physics problems (despite already knowing all the answers, of course).The following year brought Spanish and chemistry together, and by then we had become inseparable. Eventually, Emme made the bold move and asked Kiran to PDC (the girls-ask-guys dance). Not long after, Kiran asked Emme on their first official date, which also happened to be Kiran’s first date ever. Naturally, we showed up on a Friday night to a packed movie theater to see a brand-new release… only to realize Kiran hadn’t bought tickets yet. We ended up snagging the very last two seats in the front row for a sequel of a movie neither of us had seen. It wasn’t exactly glamorous, but somehow, it was perfect — and the rest is history.After high school, we went to different colleges, but our love never wavered. We supported one another from afar, cheering each other on as we pursued our passions. Sophomore year of college brought a turning point: Kiran received his job offer at Blackstone, and Emme was accepted to the Icahn School of Medicine — our paths were finally coming back together. Now living in New York, our relationship continues to grow as we get to enjoy the little, meaningful, everyday moments side by side once again. We are endlessly grateful for what God has done in our lives and are so excited to take this next step together into marriage.

About Amelia Island

Amelia Island has always held a special place in our hearts. Emme grew up in nearby Jacksonville, so trips to Amelia were already a familiar and favorite escape. But around 15 years ago, when her grandparents bought a place here, it became something more — a true home away from home. Since then, countless summers, spring breaks, Easters, and long weekends have been spent soaking up everything this island has to offer. Over the years, Amelia Island has quietly woven itself into some of our most meaningful moments. It was the destination of our very first vacation together. It’s where we found out they received the same scholarship, where Emme learned she got into Duke, and where many birthdays and milestones have been celebrated. In between those big moments were the simple ones we love most: riding bikes around the island, exploring downtown Fernandina Beach, watching the sunrise over the ocean, sharing dinners at España (our favorite!), and indulging in Fantastic Fudge while playing board games late into the night. Choosing Amelia Island for our wedding felt natural. It’s a place filled with memories, laughter, and a deep sense of comfort for us. We are so excited to share this special place with the people we love most, and we can’t wait to celebrate together here. We hope you fall in love with Amelia Island just as much as we have.
